ANGER MANAGEMENT (Feb 22-March 28)
Ages: 8-11
Location/Time: FREEDOM - Thursdays 4-5pm
Facilitator: Kenny Haynes, CPST
A group intended to teach young children appropriate skills to better manage their anger. The curriculum covers subjects such as coping skills, de-escalation techniques, relaxation, decision making, etc. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the next round of anger management for teens as well as 8–11-year-olds. The dates for the next teen group will be from March 5th- April 23rd and the 8–11-year-olds will be from Feb 22nd- March 28th. I have received some referrals already so I will be reaching out to those families today and Monday to give them details and answer any questions they may have. One thing I wanted to remind everyone of is when considering a client for the group please make sure your client is able to stay regulated while in a group setting and not be disruptive the entire time. I understand that most of the kids have behavior issues (especially the kids you are referring to anger management), so I am not expecting them to be on their absolute best behavior or anything, but they at least need to be able to stay seated, keep their hands to themselves and not be completely disruptive the entire session. The groups will run from 4-5pm, for both teens and 8-11.
