fALL FEATURED GROUPS

TRIPLE P | For parents of children ages 2-12

TRIPLE P | For parents of children ages 2-12

The group will provide opportunities for parents to increase their confidence in managing common behavior challenges and developmental concerns, as well as decrease any use/threat of punitive disciplining methods. Parents will learn strategies to improve communication about parenting issues and reduce the stress associated with raising children.

The group meets 1 time each week for 5 weeks. Parents will receive information and strategies to encourage and foster positive interactions with their child(ren), give and receive support from other parents in the group, and develop their own parenting plan using the information obtained from group. This group is appropriate for ALL parents (with children 2-12 years old).

ART THERAPY | Ages 8 to 12

During these 6 weeks, this art therapy group will focus on using creative art interventions that will assist with self-expression, processing, and regulating emotions. This group is designed to facilitate the therapeutic process by using art as a method of exploration and discovery of personal experiences and emotional expression.

DBT | Ages: 8 to 13 and 14 to 18

TRIPLE P | For parents of children ages 2-12

DBT | Ages: 8 to 13 and 14 to 18

This group will work on problem-solving to decrease reduced awareness and focus; confusion about self, emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, interpersonal problems, teenage and family challenges.  Also, to increase positive behaviors including core mindfulness skills, emotional regulation skills, distress tolerance skills, interpersonal effectiveness, and walking the middle path skills- working on extreme thinking, feeling,  and acting.


Parents will be working on the same skills as clients with a focus on communication skills, and focus on themselves, as well as helping their teenagers. 

 

ANGER MANAGEMENT FOR LITTLES

 Ages:  4-7


A group intended to teach young children appropriate skills to manage their anger better. The curriculum covers coping skills, de-escalation techniques, relaxation, decision-making, etc. This group is meant to correspond with the Parenting with Love and Logic group for parents of children ages 4-7. Anyone in the Littles Anger Mgt group should have at least 1 parent/guardian who is in the Love and Logic group. 


 

LOVE & LOGIC PARENTING GROUP 


This group will have the purpose of supporting parents in increasing and developing effective parenting skills. They will study the book Parenting with Love and Logic and support will be offered to address current concerns of the attendees. 

This group is meant to correspond with the anger management group for children ages 4-7. Anyone in the Littles Anger Mgt group should have at least 1 parent/guardian who is in the Love and Logic group. 


 

ANGER MANAGEMENT 

Ages: 8-11


A group intended to teach young children appropriate skills to better manage their anger. The curriculum covers subjects such as coping skills, de-escalation techniques, relaxation, decision-making, etc. 


 

DBT 

Ages 14 to 18


This group will work on problem-solving to decrease reduced awareness and focus; confusion about self ( not being aware of how you are always feeling), emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, interpersonal problems, teenage and family challenges.  Also, to increase positive behaviors including core mindfulness skills, emotional regulation skills, distress tolerance skills, interpersonal effectiveness, and walking the middle path skills- working on extreme thinking, feeling,  and acting.


Parents will be working on the same skills as clients with a focus on communication skills, and focus on themselves, as well as helping their teenagers. 


 

OUTSPOKEN GROUP (ongoing)

Ages: 12-17

ART THERAPY 

Ages: 8-12


This group is designed to facilitate the therapeutic process by using art as a method of exploration and discovery of personal experiences and emotional expression. Clients will use creative art-based interventions to promote the development of coping with thoughts and emotions. 


 

ART THERAPY

Ages: 6-8


Hello, all, I will be running another Art therapy group again. This time it will be for ages 6-8. This group will start on Monday March 18th and go until April 22nd from 4:00-5:00 pm. It will be here at the Freedom building in conference room 3. (Lisa agreed to switch rooms with me). I will be limiting the number of group members for this group due to age and will create a waitlist if need be. 



ANXIETY GROUP 

Ages: 8-12


This anxiety group uses CBT to help participants change their negative thoughts, increase self-esteem, and better cope with their anxiety. With multiple art-based interventions, members are able to identify their anxiety and what helps it or makes it worse, techniques to cope with anxiety, learn how to communicate their anxiety, and the importance of self-care.


 

TRIPLE P GROUP


During this intensive 5-week group, parents can gain knowledge about positive parenting strategies through presentations, video-clips, group discussion, and practice (both during group and at home). Parents will identify things that influence their child’s behavior; set ground rules and implement positive strategies to manage challenging behaviors: develop their own planned activity by utilizing concepts and strategies discussed: and increase their confidence as parents.  


A SONG FOR EVERY MOMENT


This group utilizes music in a way that aids in self-reflection, expressing emotions, developing social and communication skills, identifying how thoughts and feelings influence behaviors and choices, identity development, emotional processing and regulation, and establishing healthy coping skills.
