Hope Goes Back-to-School with Children's Advantage

Some things just don't fit in a backpack. The Children's Advantage staff is bringing hope back to school in districts all across Portage County this 2023-2024 school year.

Our School Case Managers, Counselors, and Consults are ready to help strengthen and support students, families, educators, and communities this fall.

Keep reading to learn the roles of our school-based staff, meet the School Case Managers, and find out how your child can go back to school, supported!

What is a School Case Manager?

School Case Managers are available to facilitate student achievement, improve behavior, and help them develop socially. They can intervene when your child faces behavioral, physical, or mental health challenges and connect them to services to help them achieve greatness.
School Case Managers can:

  • Meet individually and in groups with students for skills building, psycho-education, and early identification of mental health concerns.
  • Develop behavioral support plans for classroom and home.
  • Link student and family to community resources.
  • Attend school and other community meetings in support of the student.
  • Facilitate service coordination within school/home/community settings.
