Billing Specialist

 Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure billing for all assigned clients is managed to the process activity metrics and financial goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate billing of all accounts for assigned clients.
  • Responsible for entering Medicaid eligibility information into the client system.
  • Responsible for denial management of all assigned claims.
  • Responsible for analyzing all remits to ensure accurate payment has been received.
  • Ensure proper and timely notes are document in both EMR system and client system.
  • Keeps Supervisor aware of any issues that may be impacting claims resolution.
  • Helps Supervisor to build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Assists co-workers with questions.
  • Assist manager in preparing monthly status reports.
  • Participates with Manager in monthly client meetings to discuss billed services, with a focus on performance reporting and issue resolution.
  • Helps Manager to build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Assist with high severity requests or issue escalations as needed.
  • General office support tasks as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in billing and denial management, preferably with Medicaid and private insurance contracts and in a behavioral health setting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Medicaid, private insurance AR follow-up.
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED, some college preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Ohio behavioral health billing guidelines.

Other skills/experience preferred:

  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong follow-up and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with limited supervision

Director of Finance and Operations

 Duties to include but are not limited to:  

  • Improve the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of organizations mission – specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process, and organizational planning.  
  • Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (Operations and Finance), through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.  
  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.  
  • Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems, and controls.  
  • Management of agency budget in coordination with the CEO.  
  • Development of individual program budgets.  Invoicing to funding sources, including calculation of completed units of service.  
  • Back-up payroll processing  
  • Organization of fiscal documents.  
  • Regular meetings with CEO around fiscal planning.  
  • Supervise AR/AP staff on a weekly basis.  
  • Cross-train in other functions to assist with workflow and fill in as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the organization.  

Responsibilities by Function  Financial Management:  

  • Direct annual budgeting and planning process for the organization's annual budget with CEO.  
  • Collaborate in developing and monitoring the annual budget, monitor cash flow.  
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly assessments and forecasts of the organization's financial performance against budget, financial and operational goals. 
  • Oversee short and long-term financial and managerial reporting.  
  • Managing day to day processing of accounts receivable and payable using Sage50, producing reports as requested.  
  • Reconciling monthly activity, generating year-end reports, and fulfilling tax related requirements.  
  • Managing grantor contracts and reimbursement requests.  
  • Maintaining the organization’s archival and administrative files.  
  • Backing up payroll and employee benefits and organizational insurance.  

Qualifications:  

  • Commitment to the mission of the organization. 
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Master Degree, CPA preferred. 
  • At least 3 years leadership experience. 
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Microsoft/Adobe applications (Excel, Word, Acrobat).
